WHAT YOU WILL NEED
If you are looking to find your saddle seat size, follow these simple instructions.
You will need a TAPE MEASURE in INCHES (as traditionally saddles are measured in INCHES, not CENTIMETERS), and your saddle on a secure stand. If you do not have access to a tape showing inches, please use this CM to INCHES converter. CLICK HERE
WESTERN SADDLES
Take your tape and run it from just below the horn attachment to the fork across the span of the seat to the top of where the tree’s wooden cantle is (underneath the leather). We measure the raw tree to determine seat size before any leather is applied. Measuring across the seat of a fully constructed saddle, after the leather and padding are on, is not as reliable, but this is the most accurate way to do it. For example, the one shown is a 16.5″ saddle.
ENGLISH SADDLES
Take your tape and run it from the nail head located at the front of the saddle (there is one left and right and It does not matter which you choose), to the back edge of the cantle/seat edge. Aim your tape towards the CENTRE.  We then take the measurement INSIDE the seat.
For example, the one shown is a 17″ saddle.
